The 30 million Latinos in the United States will generate an estimated 100-150 million doctor visits in the coming year. Latino patients bring a unique view of health and illness to the examination room. Healing Latinos: Realidad y Fantasia was written by physicians and providers to share their stories about culturally effective healing with their colleagues.

Seventeen collaborators---practitioners, researchers, authors, activists, members of professional organizations, all based in Southern California---define and illustrate effective culturally competent treatment of Latino patients.
